Where did the time go?

It has definitely been awhile since I posted.

It has been going goood though!  I have officially been on the diet for 6 weeks and have lost 17.6 lbs!!!

I'm quite excited about this!

My clothes are looser and I definitely have more energy.  I even had to add another notch to a belt that I have!  YIPEE!!!  I went to my first Aqua Zumba this evening and wore my swimsuit from last season with some swim shorts.  They both were looser and the shorts almost fell off when I got out of the water.  The straps on the suit kept falling down.

Don't get me wrong there are days that are hard.  Like Super Bowl Sunday when I really wanted to tie into the pan fried chicken legs, homemade chocolate truffels and the massive homemade cinnamon rolls that our host made! Oh man!  But I did the best I could and had a bit of each of my husband's plate.

I have found a couple of recipes that kinda help with my sweet tooth and keep me on my diet. Here is one of them:

Single Serve Cake-1pt.
1 Box of Angel Food Cake Mix
1 Box of any flavor cake mix-use your favorite
Mix both boxes of dry mixes together in a ziploc bag.  Take 1/4 cup of the mix and place it in a coffee mug.  Mix with 2 TBSP of water.  Microwave 1 minute.  Ready to eat.
I usually serve with a tad of sugar free/fat free Cool Whip.

Yum, yum!!!

I also found that Kellog makes a SpecialK Cracker Chip with all kind of different flavors that are wonderful!  For 27 chips they are worth 3 pts. Great snack!

DAY TEN, ELEVEN, TWELVE, THIRTEEN, FOURTEEN, FIFTEEN

January 14, 2012

Its been awhile huh?

Super busy week!  So busy that I only had about two days of exercise which I think showed in my weight loss.  However, I weighed in this morning and....

Lost 2.8lbs this week!!!

I'm still happy with it because its still weight loss.

Anyway, on Tuesday our community started a weight loss challenge so I decided to sign up for it.  Mostly because there are some organizations that open up their gyms for open gym times and organized exercise classes.  So I decided that six weeks of free physical activity was worth it.  And if I could come away with some cash money for winning the individual catergory...why not?

My goal this week is to 1. drink more water and 2. to excerise at least 4 times this week.

And then my other non weight loss goal is to do this blog everyday....I hope I can acheive all three!!

And on to tomorrow....

Current Weight:  252.6lbs

DAY NINE

January 8, 2012

Today started off bad.  The sad part is it had nothing to do with food.  I woke up with a really bad headache...I should say migraine.  Awful.  Then I noticed the stench of dog poop.  Yes the damn dog decided to crap right beside my bed!  Ugh!

But on to better things.  Not a bad day with the food today.  I even ate lunch at McDonald's with my daughter and I think I handled it well.  Although...I did bum a couple of french fries off of her lunch..heehee!
(Gotta get her perks where ya can!)

i wanted to go walk today but my kiddo had other ideas.  I can usually entice her with shopping so we bargained and went to the mall.  Then we did a little Wii Sports after we got home.

Back to work tomorrow.  First full week of work since middle of December...wonder how that's going to go over?

On to Monday...

DAY EIGHT

January 7, 2012

5.6 lbs!!!!!

Yep...that is my weight loss for the first week!

I'm pretty proud of that.  Although I think it could have been more if I would have skipped the Chipotle last night.  I think I need to have that as a reward for Saturday lunches instead, you know, after weigh in!

Food wise it was a pretty typical day and not too bad.  I did make Chicken Parmasean for dinner tonight and even coated a chicken breast in eqq whites for me instead.  Although I did indulge a little bit and also had some garlic bread which is.....wow....full of points!  But I still managed to stay within my daily points.

Then my husband came home from hunting at my parent's farm with some cupcakes and Rice Krispie Treats from my mother.  I think my jaw dropped to the floor when those came out of the grocery sack.  Although after doing some investigation it is determined that a Rice Krispie Treat is only 3 points!!!! Did you hear that?  3 points!  I'm so having one of those tonight!  The cupcakes on the other hand.....those are strictly for the kids...I'm forcing myself to stay away from those!

Excerise was non-existent today.  I should have taken the time to get some in when the kids and husband were gone.  But I was cleaning the house and by time I thought about it, it was getting dark and it was just me and my daughter home.  She didn't want to go and she's too young to stay home by herself.  She had just played 30 minutes of non-stop basketball game so it didn't seem right to make her get back out and walk with her dear old Mom.  Tomorrow is a different day...there will be a walk in my day at some point!

On to tomorrow....

1st week weight loss:  5.6 lbs----255.4 lbs

DAY SEVEN

January 6, 2012

Tomorrow is weigh-in day!!!

I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little excited to see how much I have lost this week.

I did splurge a little tonight and had my favorite Chipotle.  But it seems I was still within my daily points so I hope it doesn't reflect on tomorrow's scale.

I managed to get in a little more exercise today as well.  I had an hour lunch break today and decided to walk around the mall that is close by the office.  Then after dinner I did fifteen minutes on the Wii Fit and then ten minutes of Wii Bowling.  I know it doesn't sound like much but at least I'm moving!

I have to come up with some goals and incentives when those goals are reached.  Hmmm....I'm drawing a blank!

Well until tomorrow and the big result!  Well, I hope its big anyway!

DAY FIVE AND SIX

January 5, 2012

I missed yesterday's post....busy, busy, busy.

Have had so-so days yesterday and today.

After entering my food into the Weight Watchers eTools Tracker tool I realized I did better than I thought but, I just didn't feel right.

Wednesday I ate all the right things but felt hungry all day long.  Then we were busy all night last night so I didn't manage to get any exercise in again so I just felt a little down.

Today started off good and even thought I ate well at lunch.  I went with a co-worker to Applebee's and had the Santa Fe Chicken Salad without dressing and added salsa.  I also told them to skip the sour cream and guacamole.

I even managed to get a short walk in late this afternoon before it started to get dark.  Then tonight my parents took us out for supper to Church's Chicken.  Evidently they don't believe in anything grilled there....ugh.  However, after entering in the info into the Food Tracker it really wasn't that bad.

I think this is where I need to get it out of my head that its not all bad what I eat just the amount and how often.

I also need to remember to stay off the scale until it is strictly weigh in days.  All it does is give me highs and lows.

Lessons to learn, huh?  LOL.

But on to another day.....

DAY FOUR

January 3, 2012

Another good day today on the diet journey.  I think.  :-)

Let me explain:

Breakfast: Skipped.  I probably shouldn't have but had the day off and slept late then went out and ran errands so just no time.
Lunch: A Fit-N-Active Turkey and Broccoli Hot Pocket; Salad with dressing, and pretzel chips.
Snack: Orange
Supper: 2 Spicy Chicken Tacos (soft shell) with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and salsa. They were super good and the chicken was super easy to make.  I'll attach the recipe at the bottom.
Snack: Jello w/Fat Free Cool Whip on top

I didn't get any activity in today though so this where I'm a little down about. I haven't felt well today with achy back and stomach so just didn't get to it. I'm really down about that but plan to walk on my lunch break tomorrow.

I really try not to weigh myself on a daily basis but I just wanna see if all of this is making a difference.

And on to tomorrow...

Slow Cooker Spicy Chicken
2-4 chicken breast on bottom of the slow cooker
8 oz. fat free salsa poured over top
1/4 c. of tomato sauce poured on top of that
Seasoning of your choice:  I used chili powder, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt/powder, salt/pepper to taste.
Cook on low for 4 hours if chicken thawed.  I cooked on high for 4 hours as the chicken was still frozen but it was done in that time frame.
Shred with fork.

Again, we made tacos out of the meat but I also thought about using the meat to make a chicken taco salad.  It really isn't all that spicy, if at all.

Enjoy! I know our family did!

DAY THREE

January 2, 2012

Another good day today!  YEA for me!

Late Breakfast:  2 Scrambled eggs with salsa, slice of toast with 1 tsp of butter
Lunch: 1 slice of cheese pizza, salad with carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, & tomatoes with 2 TBSP of Catalina dressing
Snack: Banana
Supper:  Pork chops with a small amount of mushroom gravy, broccoli, green beans, and 1/2 cup of mac-n-cheese

I discovered today that sugar free jello is a 0 point value on Weight Watchers!!!  Can you give me a whoot whoot?  So I made some raspberry jello and going to top it off with some fat free Cool Whip as a snack.

We also found a deal on a treadmill today at Kmart so we have put it on layaway.  We have Christmas money to use for it but we also need a new stove so we may be splitting that money between the two.

Went for another walk today with the family.  I made a stipulation though that the dogs had to stay home because they slowed us down yesterday.  We went a different route today so its kinda hard to determine that.  The kids wanted to walk to their school which is only about 4 blocks away which we made it about 2 and I started to feel my legs hurt so I wanted to turn back around before I knew I had pushed it too far.

I am hoping though that when we get the treadmill home then I can break up the walking in the morning and in the evening.

I am sure there are going to be days where I wanna chuck all of this out the window but today is not one of those days!

On to the next day...

DAY TWO

January 1, 2012  (OK...that's a little strange to type)

Today didn't end up as bad as I had imagined it would be.  Of course maybe those prayers last night helped ease some of those hunger cravings today.

This morning started off with Sunday School and church.

Breakfast:  Oatmeal, peaches, and Diet Coke.

BTW...you will quickly figure out my addiction to Diet Coke.  Thankfully, its 0 points on this diet which means I can have all I want.  My husband is thankful of that fact too!

Ever since I had the gestational diabetes with my second kiddo, I occasionally will have a low blood sugar attack.  These usually result in some dizziness, mood swings, shakiness, and some hot flashes.  We covered the nursery today during service and even though I had breakfast about 11 a.m. I felt this coming on.  Praise God the is a small 'coffee shop' at the church and they had a small package of fruit snacks that I was able to eat and get my sugar right again.  I really need to start testing my blood when those attacks happen.  It would be interesting to see how it is affected.

Since I didn't get to the grocery store yesterday I decided I would do that after church but since there was no food in the house we had to stop at Wendy's for lunch.  I think I handled that well too:

Lunch:  Grilled chicken wrap and side salad

Grocery shopping was a little hectic and frustrating at times but that's pretty typical.  I was able to get some fresh vegetables and fruits on sale so eating healthy didn't send our bank account into a tail spin.  (I find it funny that to eat healthy costs about 3x as much as it does to eat junk!)  Also found these AMAZING pretzel chips with garlic and Parmesan!  Oh my!  So needless to say....

Snack:  Pretzel chips and banana

The weather turned a little chilly today but I still didn't let that hinder me from getting out and walking around our block.  I think I said yesterday that I haven't exercised in FOREVER...so at this point I am just starting to get started and at least get moving.  I've already decided that next week I will add some more to that walk.

Supper: The husband decided to make a family sub sandwich for supper with BBQ chips.  We used a french loaf from the grocery store bakery.  I cut a small sub (2ft by Subway standards) but it still was a lot of bread so I cut out the 'heart' of the bread, a slice of cooked ham, slice of turkey breast, and tomato slices.  I did sneak a couple of BBQ chips, then a salad with tomatoes and Catalina dressing.

Snack: Orange

And I may decide to have a little something else

My biggest challenge is going to be to figure out some exercise for during the week.  My husband works nights 3 times a week which leaves me 'single parent' to haul two kids to extra curricular activities.  This is also why I dislike the time change and it being dark out so early.  By the time I get home from work, running kids to and fro, and etc. it doesn't leave daylight out to go for a walk...safely.  So I think I'm going to have to come up with some simple exercises or get hooked onto the Wii Fit game we have.

On to Day 3....
